Performances of Bus Stop will run over the weekend of April 6-8, at the Ashe Civic Center in West Jefferson.īus Stop is a well-known “dram-edy” about the passengers on a bus traveling from Kansas City, Missouri to Wyoming who get “Shanghai-ed” in the diner of a small town in Kansas while waiting out a blizzard that has blocked the highway west. Some may recall that Marilyn Monroe appeared in a film version of the play in 1956. Ashe County Little Theatre’s kicks off its 2018 season with the classic play, Bus Stop, which was written by famed American playwright William Inge in 1955.
